Staff Pick Initial Toast of Friendships to the Staff

They are two of the essential aspects of the human experience. They are two of the most essential requirements of human beings. These are the bonds that join us. They help us stay connected, but they could increase our vulnerability. They cause us to be afraid of losing them, just the way we'd prefer to have them at the beginning. Filmmakers' job is to share this experience through a variety of different styles. It's not easy and at times when film makers explore the myriad experiences that comprise the human experience in a manner that is both honest and important, the film can be an effective tool to explore the private lives of all of us. The moment is now for the time of the Staff Pick premiere of Liv Karin Dahlstrom's "Women&Wine," a comedic study of pride caused by self-interest, when faced by the breakup of a relationship. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Seattle International Film Festival (full details are here: I was one of the jurors), "Women&Wine" is an extremely humorous and disturbing film which tells of a woman's struggle to stay connected with the person she loves most.

The film begins with Turid (Marit Andreassen) and Signe (Jeanne Bee) each female. They're friends in their final years and are planning an extravagant celebration in order to mark an anniversary of the birth date of their favorite family member Grete (Turid Gunnes). A fun prank turns into an insulting comment, which can cause Turid becoming worried about never becoming a household name with their peers. Self-confidence can be damaged through trust, and humorous or even embarrassing behaviour can result. The movie provides a genuine and authentic depiction of the interactions between humans. The film explores a wide range of emotions including funny, sweet, terrifying and even funny. The story is an adaptation of Dahlstrom who composed the script with Thorkild Schrooff. The incident happened close to a friends' bachelorette celebration and caused them to contemplate the "humor of vulnerability and fear that people try to hide to safeguard their self-esteem at stressful social occasions. How we think and perform is determined by the thoughts of our mind as well as the effects of those thoughts affect our behaviour." For Turid the girl, who is confused because she feels she Grete does not deserve their friendship, the occasion transforms into an opportunity to show their love towards each other. This is followed by a climb up to friendship by falling into the same circle of friends so that they can show how close friends are.

The subject of jealousy and friendship are a frequent theme or could make a wonderful base for a film that is focused on those who are in an unhealthy relationship. Dahlstrom is determined to steer clear of the drama. She employs a method that is a natural one, and concentrates on the exuberant performances of her characters as well as their emotions. Inspired by the everyday happenings of the most intimate moments, Dahlstrom determined that "the camera should be capable of monitoring the movements of actors instead of choosing a secondary approach." That's why the film has the ability to seamlessly move through different scenarios. The film shows how far the extent we'll go to defend those we love dearly as well as our own self-esteem.
